Government grants for businesses can significantly reduce your installation costs. The Workplace Charging Scheme now offers up to £500 per socket for qualifying installations completed from 1 April 2026 (£350 before that date). See our grants hub for full programme detail.

Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)

Up to £500 per socket

From 1 April 2026 (£350 per socket before that date). England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland.

Up to 40 sockets per business. Covers up to 75% of purchase and installation costs. Scheme closes 31 March 2027 — confirm on GOV.UK.

EV Chargepoint Grant

Up to £350 per socket

UK-wide for landlords and property managers (flats and rental properties). Covers up to 75% of installation costs.

Scotland

Up to £800 per socket

Business grants in Scotland. Higher funding per socket available.

Rural & Island Fund (Scotland)

Up to £1,000 per socket

For rural and island locations in Scotland. Enhanced funding for remote areas.

Wales (SME grant)

Up to £15k per site

Welsh Government EV infrastructure grant for SMEs (249 or fewer employees). Up to £500 per socket (from 1 April 2026; £350 before), £15k per site, up to £75k across multiple locations.

Northern Ireland

Workplace, landlord & SME grants

Department for Infrastructure schemes: workplace charging, landlord (up to £30k per property), and small business grants (up to £15k).
