Challenge

Initially, Hoar Cross Hall had small 7kW EV chargers, but as the popularity of electric vehicles continued to rise, the hotel recognized the need for a more efficient and professional solution. The existing chargers were slower and less user-friendly, leading to potential guest dissatisfaction and reduced utilisation. The hotel needed a more powerful, faster, and seamless EV charging solution that would not only meet the needs of their guests but also align with their sustainability goals.

Solution

ZOLB EV was selected to deliver the ideal solution for Hoar Cross Hall, providing an upgrade to the EV charging infrastructure that addressed the hotel’s needs for speed, convenience, and reliability. The key components of the solution included:

Installation of Dual 22kW Chargers

 ZOLB EV installed two Dual 22kW chargers in partnership with Chargepoint, creating four charging bays in total. The 22kW chargers are much faster than the previous 7kW chargers, allowing guests to quickly charge their vehicles while staying at the hotel or using the spa facilities. The chargers are also designed to be user-friendly, with easy access for guests.

Seamless Payment Integration

ZOLB EV’s solution included integrated payment options via both app-based and credit/debit card methods, allowing for a frictionless and convenient charging experience for all guests. This made it easier for guests to charge their vehicles without hassle, contributing to an enhanced overall experience.

Groundworks and Connectivity

While ZOLB EV managed the charger installation, the hotel took responsibility for the groundworks and data connectivity. This collaboration helped ensure the installation was completed smoothly and efficiently.

Future Expansion Plans

Due to the high demand for EV charging stations by both guests and staff, Hoar Cross Hall plans to install an additional charger soon, expanding the number of charging bays to six. This will further accommodate the growing number of electric vehicles and ensure that all guests and staff have access to fast, efficient charging options.

Results

The installation of the Dual 22kW chargers has proven to be highly successful at Hoar Cross Hall. The upgraded system is faster, more efficient, and much better aligned with the needs of the hotel’s guests. The user-friendly payment options and high-speed charging have contributed to an improved guest experience, with both hotel guests and staff benefiting from the new infrastructure.
